As a seasoned HR professional I am often so keen to share my knowledge and experience on managing people I forget the bigger picture of WHY it is good to invest in learning and development for your teams.

My 1 to 1 Fit for Leadership programme supports and develops YOU in the areas you really need help in.
So here are my 3 top reasons!
1. CONSISTENCY
Developing and sculpting how the management team lead improves individual, team and business performance. Everyone is completely clear of what is expected from them.
2. ENGAGEMENT
By offering any personal development everyone understands they are being invested in and appreciates the business wants to support them in doing a great job. In turn, the team sees that their manager and the business is serious about making the most out of their most expensive resource - people.
3. RETENTION
By developing staff, whether in their skills or expanding their knowledge, the team sees they are valued and may just stay a little longer which is good, especially in these mad times of the employment market. Yes, of course pay is important, but so is the feeling of working for a business that wants to invest in everyone for the future!
In my research I found a great article which might be by an American and written 8 years ago but is very relevant to my viewpoint. Read it here: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/20141020200719-25318229-five-reasons-for-developing-your-employees/
